Instant vanilla cream powder
A powder for vanilla cream that is whisked with cold milk without cooking and sets quickly.
In German-speaking countries, no-cook vanilla cream powder sits next to the pudding powder in supermarkets, and Eastern European shops carry Hungarian or Polish versions. In English-speaking countries the closest product is sold as instant vanilla pudding mix or an instant whip dessert mix.
Substitute:
Instant vanilla pudding mix behaves very similarly, though the amount of milk should follow the packet. Cook-type vanilla pudding powder or custard powder also works if cooked with slightly less milk and cooled completely, but the cream ends up firmer and less airy.
